Are you a pessimist, optimist or realist? Sage advice from a man with a tiger.

“The pessimist looks down and hits his head.
The optimist looks up and loses his footing.
The realist looks forward and adjusts his path
accordingly.”

– King Ezekiel from The Walking Dead

Who is King Ezekiel?

Sunday night on The Walking Dead, they introduced King Ezekiel and his pet tiger Shiva and the group of survivors & place of residence┬áthey call “The Kingdom.”

Good guys by the way! Even though a little eccentric. (It turns out there’s more to the regal-talking King Ezekiel than meets the eye so you just gotta watch.) čśë

I know what you’re thinking… “Why the hell am I reading this blog from this crazy? Unsubscribe.” Or if you’re a fan: “Heck yeah! TWD applied to life.”

Hear me out though! There is more to this than meets the eye.

You see… All the top-rated movies speak to our inner struggle and outer quest for freedom.┬áPersonal freedom, mental freedom or even freedom for the group.

Let’s look at just a few on IMDB.com:

In the top 10, we’ve got incredible movies like: Shawshank Redemption, Avatar, The Dark Knight, Shindler’s List, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc…

Hundreds of thousands of people have voted on this site saying that these are their top picks.

But what are they basically about?
Yes, it’s good overcoming evil.

But even more…┬áThese movies cover the subjects of being trapped and breaking out. About working to escape horrible conditions and not just accepting it and letting it break you.

About defending what’s good and what’s right and not allowing oppressive forces take over and destroy your good nature and culture.

They’re about the bad that can happen when good people take no action. And the unlikely┬áhero who goes on to save the entire world despite questioning his every move.

Do you like any of these movies? Next time you watch a truly amazing movie, figure out what basic message they are pushing. Especially the ones that make you want to run out of thetheater and start working on a better world.

The themes are basically the same with our fav TV shows like The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Mr. Robot, Breaking Bad, etc.

Heck! Even thinking back to my childhood shows: The Power Rangers. Thundercats. Captain Planet.

Same thing! čśë

Okay okay… Back to what the King said.
“The pessimist looks down and hits his head.
The optimist looks up and loses his footing.
The realist looks forward and adjusts his path
accordingly.” King Ezekiel

Naysayers and haters (pessimists) might question you starting up or going full-time on your side hustle. Maybe even people you care about.

But they are just trying to protect you – or not looking out for your interests at all.

The overly-optimistic┬áthink God is going to take care of everything. And that might be true. But he’s definitely not going to take care of you if you don’t do anything.

God helps those who help themselves.

The realists know what it takes to create the incomeautopilot you need and want to fund your extra-ordinary, mediocrity-destroying lifestyle. čÖé
